Perry to pay wrestling coach $450K in settlement (The Canton Repository)

Perry Local Schools has settled a defamation lawsuit brought by longtime wrestling coach David Riggs against the superintendent and its lawyer. The agreement calls for Riggs to be paid $450,000, the removal of any letter of reprimand from Riggs’ personnel file and a letter of apology signed by Superintendent John Richard and Mary Jo Shannon Slick, an attorney who advised the district.

Bear wrestling hits 500 win milestone (Boyertown Area Times)

As far as milestones go, this is a big one. The Boyertown High School wrestling program picked up it’s 500th win in its 46 year history with a 47-15 win against PAC-10 rival Upper Perkiomen on Wednesday, Jan. 20.
